What is wrong with the Republican Leadership? Are they hallucinating back to the Bush days? Or are they still lost in Reagan Translation?

And will they please stop mixing up “In God We Trust” with “We Are Gods”!

What WOULD Jesus say to all their claims of “We, the good Christians,” who blame the poor for starving to death as they divvy up the poor man’s goods and (in the name of Jesus) who use the excuse of pre-emptive strikes to kill and maim as a justification for “averting war”?

Hypocrites: The Republican Leadership and their Budget; not to forget their two-step march to the podium with their little financial plaything. Thanks for a good laugh.

The WORLD understands that the global economy is suffering due to Republican American mistakes.

Ask the leaders of France, or Brazil.
Ask the thousands of London Protesters.
Ask the G20 folks.
Ask the scum on the bottom of the rock that lies face down in the bottom of the murky swamp: Even the scum of the Earth know that REPUBLICAN AMERICANS have messed this WORLD up!

I knew a rich man that said, “Poor people play with toys; Rich people play with poor people’s lives.” Thanks for those tax benefits for the rich in your pretend budget. Now you can try and gather up enough votes from anybody pretending to care.

Naw, Brother Republicans, it ain’t happening! Neither American Citizens nor the WORLD want to play with you today!

But a true hypocrite is blind to the truth; or so they say. So I guess we’ll just have to wait for the next Republican installation of,

“I am Republican; therefore I am the Almighty Christian Right Hand to God - with my Left Hand stealing bread from your table.
Have no fear, I’ll be back for the table, shortly.”

What is the problem?

Millions of Latino and other Spanish-speaking Peoples south of the border (even Cubans), Russian Peoples, Eastern European Peoples, Middle Eastern Peoples – all are allowed to stay – be they here legally or illegally. They get here any way they can, establish themselves as hard-working, almost-citizens and then they and their families are allowed to stay here whether they came with “papers” or not. We embrace them one and all as “family.”

Then there’s our Haitian side of the family.

They speak French (some folk say, “ship them to Guyana,” where French is the dominant language.

They are DARK-SKINNED (too African? That’s the way the Haitians see it.)

Too problematic? (Are Haitians still paying for that pesky Touissant L’Overture’s beat-down that he masterminded against Napoleon Bonaparte; 1794 AD)

Too risky? The island has attracted too many hurricanes…all as bad or worse than Katrina. The island is deteriorating and the people are falling into an abyss.

Too needy? The people are starving…eating mudcakes.

Too political? The people “spoke” when they held democratic election and voted for
Jean-Bertrand Aristide – NOT a US, hand-picked HNIC. (CIA kidnapped Aristide and wife, but messed that up as only the CIA knows how to make a mess.)

Too poor? What? The US embargo (effectively blocking about $500m/annually in international aid) should have finished them off (along with Cuba) decades ago! How dare they survive the wrath of Khan (aka WJC)? The Sting of Ming, the Mercilous (aka GWB) and the most high-tech arsenal from the mightiest World Power?

But the REAL QUESTION is this, Mr. President:

How could you quote Haiti in your book, Dreams for My Father;

“It is this world, a world where cruise ships throw away more food in a day than most residents of Port-au-Prince see in a year, where white folks’ greed runs a world in need, apartheid in one hemisphere, apathy in another hemisphere…That’s the world! On which hope sits!” (p293)

Yet, not grant those mere 30,000 Haitians that risked life and limb to make it here, who found a way to survive a hostile climate of immigrant-haters, and yet accepted their new lower class roles with gratitude and shoulder-laden humility just to be able to feed families and stave off generational poverty?

Shame on you, Mr. President. With all due respect – CHANGE towards Haiti –
That’s what is needed. CHANGE NOW.

Our elders have looked for you in the faces of our Little Ones down thru the Generations
“Are You the One? Are You the One?”
And now - here you are – by way of Kenya and Kansas.

You make us proud, and we hope you are proud to be one of us.
We have held tight to our hopes and tears as we hid away our dreams;
scattered, decimated and dried to Raisins – yet, still we waited with shaded expectancy - for your arrival.

We understand that you alone cannot be our Greatest Hope. It does take a village, we know. But on this, Your Special Day, you touched our sacred spot – reserved for heroes and sheroes - as you honored our oft forgotten treasures, from the Tuskegee Airmen to Muhammad Ali, at the forefront welcome seats!

My God, it gave us a Blanket Pardon Day: allowed us to release forgiveness and forgetfulness for unrighted wrongs: from near-genocide of the Middle Passage to the current brutalities inflicted onto us by others and by our own. That’s the specialty of Blanket Pardon Days: we forgive others and ourselves. The weight lifted is almost unmeasureable. Our smiles rival those of our brother hero: ALS patient, Astro-physical genius Stephen Hawking as he experienced NASA weightlessness that freed his body from the ravages of disease. On this day, we too believe we can fly!

Thank you for your courage and insight. Thank you for your intelligence and willingness to share your love of family, duty and country.

Are we surprised? Come on now! We’re the ones who were beaten by the police, had our churches bombed, had firehoses turned on us, and dogs sicced on us as we marched, sat, stood and prayed for civil rights.

If we’re still here to tell our stories, then why does it surprise you that the racist folks we fought against are still here too?

Did you think they’d just disappear? Did you think they wouldn’t continue to teach their kids & grandkids the same messages of hate & prejudice that their fathers & grandfathers taught them?

I’ve been watching the Klan support rallies Palin has been holding and they’re proof positive that our struggle will continue for quite a while.
