BACK DOWN MEMORY LANE
I secretly managed a little sigh of relief.  Monica didn’t mention any “other woman”.
Not that she should; but knowing Jamey’s big brother Dennis - and the way he loves to make hook ups between OG’s (Old Guys)his age and younger women?

I wouldn’t have been too surprised if a sweet little twenty-something wasn’t strewn around somewhere in that wreckage.

Jamey was a quiet guy, a nice guy really.  But like I always say – Beware of the ‘nice guy.’ Jamey always managed to get into trouble when it came to his big brother Dennis.  Matter of fact, that was the problem; Dennis was the leader and Jamey was the follower.

All this “younger woman” craziness started when Cora, Dennis’ wife, passed away a couple of years ago.  My Aunt Snooky, who happens to also be Dennis’ newsy neighbor, swore he even had a couple of “hot young things” in the house a  week after poor Cora’s funeral.

Bastard!

Monica finally took a breath.  I waited.

“Jamey told me all about you and him.  He said that you’re the one that got away.”
(GASP)  Alright, I had ENOUGH.

“Monica, where is that Negro?”

“Who?”

“Your Husband.  Your Man.  Mr. I-don’t-remember-my-wife but I can’t forget the Love-I-Lost.”
